BuildMyHome.lk was born from a very personal frustration. Our founder — a Sri Lankan living abroad — started building his family home in Sri Lanka while managing everything remotely from Dubai. What followed was months of uncertainty: contractors requesting money before completing stages, work that looked nothing like the agreed plans, and no reliable way to verify what was actually happening on site.

"I was sending money from Dubai and had no idea whether the work was actually being done," he says. "My contractor would send a few photos on WhatsApp, request the next payment, and then go silent. I had no independent verification, no live view of the site, and no protection if something went wrong."
